Description of presentation:
Nîsohkamâtowak – “Helping Each Other”
The concept of Nîsohkamâtowak emerged from a collaboration between the Kidney Health Community Program and the First Nations and Métis Health Services Department of the former Saskatoon Health Region. Our mission was to find ways to deliver better care and education to all First Nations and Métis people who live with kidney disease, as well as their family members and support persons. Very simply, this means healthcare professionals actively listening in a way they are not used to, while the clients choose the priorities for care and education.
